This guide explains how to join a server using an invite code provided by a server administrator or manager.
Overview
Invite codes allow you to quickly join servers within the EOTAK system. Once you've received an invite code from a server administrator, you can use it to gain access to that server and begin collaborating with other users.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
An invite code from the server administrator (typically formatted as INV-ABC123)
A username you'd like to use on the server you're joining
Note that your username will be unique to each server, allowing you to use different display names across different servers if desired.
Joining a Server
From the User Panel page:
Click Join a Server
Click the "Enter invite code (e.g., INV-ABC123)" field
Enter the invite code that was provided to you by the server manager
Click the "Enter username" field
Enter the username you want to use on this server
Click Join Server
After Joining
Once you've successfully joined:
The new server will immediately appear in your Your Servers list on the User Panel
You can now select this server to access its features and resources
Your assigned role (Member, Manager, or Admin) will be based on the invite code's default role setting
Downloading Your Server Package
After joining a server, you'll need to download the ATAK/iTAK server package to connect using TAK applications:
Locate the server in your Your Servers list
Click the download icon next to the server name
The server package will download to your device
This package contains the TAK server certificates required to connect using:
ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit)
iTAK (iOS Team Awareness Kit)
Import this package into your TAK application to establish a secure connection to the server.
Managing Your Server Membership
Once you're a member of a server, you can:
Switch between servers by selecting different servers from your list
Leave a server at any time by clicking the Remove button
Access server-specific features based on your assigned role
For more information about server features, see: User Panel Overview
Troubleshooting
If you're unable to join a server, the invite code may:
Have expired
Have reached its maximum number of uses
Have been disabled by the server administrator
Have been entered incorrectly
Contact the server administrator for a new invite code if needed.
