TAK Server Group Management Guide
Group Overview
Groups in TAK Server control user permissions and data visibility. Each group can have specific permission settings that determine how users within that group interact with data.
Default Settings
All users are automatically added to the ANON Group
__ANON__ Group default permission: Both (IN and OUT)
Permission Types
1. Both Permissions
Users can send and receive data
Full visibility of other users
Complete data sharing capabilities
2. Group IN
Users can only push data to the server
Cannot see other users in the group
Data flows one way: user → server
3. Group OUT
Users can see others on the server
Cannot push their own data to the server
Data flows one way: server → user
Best Practices
Create groups based on operational needs
Consider data sharing requirements when setting permissions
Review group memberships periodically
Use descriptive group names for easy management
